Hi, I have a 1959 G2 250 and I'm looking for a few little bits to finish it off. I need the long bolt that goes through the head steady to the head and the tin cover that goes over the gear box. There are a few other things, if anyone has any advice on these little bikes, I'd really appreciate it. Cheers Scott

Hi, been trying to locate a AJS flat tank bike available for sale at reasonable price. Would ideally like a complete bike - 1926/ 1927 or 1928 model so that I can join a vintage bike club and use the bike for rallies etc. Wouldn't mind if some restoration was required as long as bike in question is not a complete basket case which would take forever to get going. If anyone has any contacts or suggestions they would be very much appreciated!! Cheers.

Hi I have a 61 G80 Matchless and restoring a 41 G3L Matchless. Have only just acquired them so working on these bikes is all new. Is there anyone in the Dandenong Ranges Vic that would like to share their knowledge of these motorcycles? I've been riding the 61 but I am concerned about some noises coming from the motor.

I'm trying to find people who might like to run or participate in a Motorcycle restoration class over a six month period in South East QLD area. The plan is to get enough people with bikes who can pay an 'expert' to run a class in a central location in Brisbane. My after hrs contact is 0407 100927. Thanks Mark (Shina) Wright

Hi Bert,

Yep, Narwee was where it all happened with Dad's Match & AJS work. He passed away back in 1992 and for a few years after that I was regularly selling off bits and piece of his stock. Things have been very quite for some time now though.

I still keep in contact with Ray Shultheis, an old mate of Dad's, and he put put me on to Peter Smith in Taree. Well, as of last Thursday, Peter now has all of Dad's Match & AJS stock. Of course I still have Dad's 51 Compie 500 which I hope to complete one day.

So Dad's stock is still in circulation but in the hands of someone in a much better position than I to make it accessible to one and all.

I am currently doing up a 1951 AJS 500 twin and am having trouble with getting oil to the tappets, and was wondering if anybody knows why this is happenning or how to fix the problem. All passage ways are clear and oil pressure is good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Long story short, I've decided to 'de-stock' a significant amount of AJS/Matcho parts that I inherited from my late father, Ross Pentecost. I'd dearly like to make these parts available to the Owners club members but I'm not sure how this can be done so as to benefit as many enthusiasts as possible. Has anyone got an idea of the best way to do this. I certainly can't bring my self to scrap any of the parts as Dad always saw some value in all Matcho stuff . . . I think it was because Matcho's were in his blood for over 40 year of his life

Of course I won't be divesting myself of all the parts as I've still got Dad's 51 AJ Compie which I'd like to get on the road some day so any bits that may be useful for that project I'd certainly want to keep.

I've found I can still identify pretty much all the parts that I've got stored under my house which were once part of Dad's 'stock'. However I'd prefer to donate whatever are consider to be viable parts as a 'job lot'. Keeping the parts in circulation to dedicated enthusiasts is the 'prime objective' here.

Feel free to contact me via my email address ... vetustusinflatio@gmail.com
I'm particularly very keen hear from the management of the club for their input. I did try to email them directly but an old copy of Lotus Notes on my PC had other ideas.

Hi all,
I'm looking for a manifold to fit twin carburettors to a AJS or Matchless 500 twin. I understand these were originally available as part of the factory race kit. Please either phone me on 073205633 at work or 0732046466 at home or email miltomac@telsta.com
